Join in on the daily animal feeding!

Historic Richmond Bridge - the oldest bridge in Australia!
We find many guests use us as a peaceful base from which to explore southern Tasmania in comfortable day trips. On our own property you are welcome to explore the farmyard, orchard, vineyard, olive grove or walk to the Coal River where you may be lucky enough to see some of our native animals, including echidna, wallaby, possum or platypus. You may also see a range of birds including the impressive wedge tail eagle, cockatoos, parakeets, kookabarras, blue wrens and red robins.

Guests are invited to join in with animal feeding every morning. This is the perfect opportunity to find out more about how our small, family run farm operates, and learn about the different animals that we have on the property. Note that we are not a petting zoo, and animal feeding experience is exclusively offered to overnight guests.

Please note that we do not host other farm activities specifically for guests, but you are welcome to participate in any activities that coincide with your visit.

We are in easy reach of

  • Historic Richmond village is just down the road. Richmond is described as the best preserved Georgian village in Australia, and has many old buildings, including the oldest bridge in Australia and the oldest Catholic church in Australia. You can easily spend a day exploring the historic buildings, riverfront walks and visiting the galleries and shops, or hire a rowing boat to explore the lower reaches of the Coal River. Children and adults alike will enjoy feeding the ducks at the river bank.

  • The Coal Valley is renowned for its good quality wines, fresh produce and history, and a pleasant days outing can be had visiting the local wineries, apricot and cherry orchards in-season.
