We feed the animals daily at 9am and guests are welcome to join us (small fee applies). The animals and things to see change according to the season, but usually there are sheep, alpacas, chickens, ducks, rabbits and a horse to feed and pat.
In summer our fruits are ripening and guests are shown the best picking methods, at other times guests may collect eggs or nuts. We enjoy sharing our life with guests and giving people an insight into farm life and what it is like to live in the Tasmanian countryside.
You can also see a variety of local native wildlife on the farm including the amazing wedge-tailed eagles soaring overhead to owls, wallabies, possums, small birds and echidnas. If you are really lucky you might even see the resident platypus splashing around in the river.
Just 5 minutes drive away in Richmond there is plenty to see and do also. Visit Australias oldest bridge which is still used daily, the Convict Gaol, historic buildings, numerous local craft and art shops or grab a tasty treat at the bakery or one of the many coffee shops.
Further afield, Hobart is just 25 minutes away, visit Mount Wellington, Mures Seafood, Barilla Bay Oysters, Mawsons Hut, MONA or the Huon Valley, Tahune Airwalk and Bruny Island. Easy days trips from the farm include the Tasmania Peninsula, Port Arthur, Bangor Wine and Oyster Shed, Wineglass Bay, Mount Field National Park and Russell Falls, Salmon Ponds, or even Launceston which is just 2 hrs north. There is plenty to see and do!
